For this week the project or task to be carried out is the creation of a piece with a process which we have not worked on in the laboratory, since it covers the area of printing, but is also related to digital processes..
Description of the work process of the week16.
The dtf machine or dtf (direct to film) system is a machine that prints on a special film and, after printing, is transferred to a substrate such as glass, wood, ceramics or textiles.
What I made was a DTF print, which I later glued with an iron to sublimate on a sweatshirt. The first thing I did was the design of the piece which I was going to stick on the sweatshirt, then I took it to print on the machine, where the first thing to do was make the configuration in the program, this program receives various formats such as PDF , PNG among others.
Then we move on to printing where the machine performs it by injecting ink onto the film, and it passes through an oven to allow the ink to fix. To finish, place the DTF that is the result of this printing on the sweatshirt and iron (sublimation method) using heat to adhere the material to the textile. And ready! I keep my sweatshirt.
